RAC Events
RAC have three main events on the running calendar each year.
Our annual RAC 10km race, the much anticipated Tough One 32k and the pre-comrades Loooong Run.
For over half a decade, we have been creating opportunities for runners to participate in well organised and excellently executed races and training runs.
THE RAC 10K

2025 10k Results HERE :
Our annual RAC 10km race is perfectly timed a few weeks before the Comrades Marathon, when our ultra distance runners are either busy tapering (and getting grumpy) or working on some much needed speed work. Those who take the dreaded taper more seriously can be found helping out at registration, drinks tables or marshalling, as this is their turn to volunteer with support and encouragement. Many of our neighbouring clubs use the RAC 10km as their final club run before Comrades, as a Comrades send off get-together and one last speed session.
But the race also attracts our more social runners, juniors, families, golden oldies and many walkers, who all come out of the woodwork for their favourite 10km outing. You will find 80 year old running legends finishing alongside 20 year old first time runners. It's just wonderful to see our whole community enjoying the run nippy morning.
A recent addition is our Moms and Prams race, where the first three mommies to cross the finish line with their little one in a pram, win three GIGNORMOUS teddy bears.
The autumn weather is ideal for racing and the Old Parks Sports Club is the perfect setting.

The RAC Tough One
2024 saw he 50th running of the RAC 32KM Tough One.
The race was run for the first time in 1974, and over a period of fifty years, it has become a must-do event on every serious runner's calendar, to keep them in the game as the running season winds down. The route is challenging but extremely satisfying, and there's no better way to spend a Sunday morning than conquering the many hills of Joburg's northern suburbs.
Are you up for the challenge?

The event takes place in Autumn before the winter starts to set in, and is a great social gathering for runners and walkers of all abilities.
